Objectives
- To contribute to poverty alleviation and income security of smallholders and disadvantaged actors through building institutional capacity and self-organization, enabling them to become partners in coordinated dairy value chain (DVC) management.
- To contribute to the diffusion of the value chain (VC) approach and advance dairy development in Kenya, Nigeria and Ghana.
- To contribute to enhancing policies for the dairy sector and facilitate the involvement of smallholders.
- To contribute to enhanced qualification and problem-solving skills of students/graduates to cope with changing requirements in their future jobs as actors in the dairy sector.
- To contribute to increasing focus of academic programmes on needs of the labour market, entrepreneurship, gender equality and poverty alleviation.
- To contribute to adaptation of curricula to changing labour market requirements in the DVC, involving interdisciplinary and competence and outcome based learning (COBOL) and functioning HEI-labour market networks.
- To contribute to a African-European academic partnership network for further education and research on DVC.
- To contribute to development of expert knowledge on DVC
- To contribute to upgrading the knowledge and didactic skills of academic staff enabling them to review, develop and maintain curricula in DVC, to integrate COBL and manage interdisciplinary research and education processes.
- To contribute to internationalisation of education and research in DVC.
